The Met Bar invites you to DIVAN - dedicated to the tasting and enjoyment of the finer things in life.
On Friday 8th July, we welcome Ted Macdonnell to the Met Bar, who will lead us through a tasting of 4 selected Compass Box whiskies. No whisky in recent times has generated such interest and praise. Asyla, one of the whiskies tasted, was voted “Best Scotch Whisky of the Year” by Food & Wine Magazine. On Eleuthera, Wine Magazine writes simply “Complex and brilliantly balanced“, and further it went on to win a double Gold medal in the San Francisco Spirits Show.
This brand is a pioneer amongst the traditionalists, and has won the “Innovator of the Year Award” two years in a row from Whisky Magazine and the “Pioneer of the Year Award” twice from the Malt Advocate - two leading whisky publications in the United Kingdom.
To accompany the whiskies, we have included 2 classic Cohiba cigars for the evening, and invited torcedor Jaime Paredes, to roll some puros live. A feast of sight and sound is also provided with Junk live on percussion, alongside live Latin House sounds spun by DJ DukeOPhive. Motion-graphic visuals will be care of Ton and cuisine by Chef Amanda Gale.
